Japanese doctor promises Siasia’s boys $30, 000 each for gold.

A Japanese plastic surgeon, Katsuya Takasu has promised each player of the Nigerian U-23 team
 $30, 000 if they win the gold in the men’s soccer event. Moved by the heart wrenching experiences 
of the team on their way to Brazil, Takasu pledged to reward the team for their bravery.

He also promised to pay the team $20, 000 dollars for silver and $12,000 for bronze. Drama upon 
drama have trailed the team gunning for gold at the Games. They arrived Manus, Brazil five hours 
to their first group B game against Japan. They won 5-4 and went ahead to beat Sweden 1-0 to seal
 a place in the quarter-final. The team totally out classed Denmark in the quarter-final to set up a
 semi-final clash against Germany on Wednesday. Should Takasu make good his promise,
 he has been advised not to wire the money to the Nigeria Football Federation but pay
 the players directly.
