A Rivers State-born athlete, Meneye Nimi-Jack, has won the World Kickboxing Federation, WKF, Championship title. Nimi-Jack defeated Canadian-born WKF Champion, Mr. Anthony Ford at Renew Entertainment Centre Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The WKF Champion, who is yet to be recognised by the government, urged the government to invest in Kickboxing, noting that it would help in curbing youth unemployment and restiveness in the nation.

“Fighting is not like football or any other sports. Kickboxing should be adopted in Nigeria. Our government needs to invest in this sport. “If government can come into kickboxing, vices will reduce among the youths’’, the new crowned champion said.
