of 2016 on Thursday despite the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions
League. Revenues climbed to £157.9 million ($198.3 million, 185.6 million

percent and match-day revenues up 27 percent.
Blackjack bombers fly around edges of British airspace in latest incident.
Typhoon jets were previously deployed to shadow Russian warships that passed
through the English Channel last month.
RAF jets have been scrambled to intercept Russian bomber planes that spent more than five hours skirting the edges of British airspace.
The Independent understands the Russian Tu-16
“Blackjack” bombers entered the UK’s area of interest from the
north-east at around 10am, flying between the Shetland and Faroe
islands, then down the west coast of Ireland and over the Bay of Biscay.
So you want to be a SUR-ver?
After Lisa Vanderpump shook the world with a single tweet, announcing that SUR, the West Hollywood restaurant at the heart of her Bravo series Vanderpump Rules
was looking to hire "gregarious, experienced bar and waitstaff" who
"love to work in fun filled busy atmosphere," fans of the show have no
doubt begun working on their resume in the hopes of one day slinging
drinks alongside the likes of Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix.
But
as five seasons of workplace drama have demonstrated, SUR is not your
average restaurant. (It is Sexy Unique Restaurant, after all.) Working
under the same roof as Jax Taylor requires a little something extra. Here's what Pump Rules has taught us about what it takes to work for LVP.
Dozens of women protested at Buenos Aires' famous Obelisk monument
They were objected to police expelling topless women sunbathers from a beach
The trio were approached by officers at the Necochea resort in Buenos Aires
They say they were threatened with arrest after being surrounded
A number of tourists were offended by 'exhibitionism' and called authorities
The women said they had as much right as a man to go topless on the beach
Bare-breasted
demonstrators have taken to the streets of Argentina in protest over a
recent incident in which police expelled topless women sunbathers from a
beach under threat of arrest.
Dozens
of women and some male supporters protested at Buenos Aires' famous
Obelisk monument and in other Argentine cities on Tuesday.
The protest was held under the slogan: 'Our breasts should not be censored!'
Some
of the protesters had their chests painted with slogans such as 'Censor
this' and 'We are not going to ask you for permission.'

Russia has
increased government spending on the 2018 World Cup by 19.1 billion rubles
($325 million) without explanation. Total spending rises to 638.8 billion
rubles ($10.8 billion), with all of the increase coming from federal budget
funds, which now make up almost 55 percent of total spending.
The
increase dwarfs previous attempts to cut costs by reducing the number of
high-end hotels to be built and trimming expenses on other infrastructure. There
was no immediate comment by the World Cup organizing committee on the reason
for the increase, which was announced when an updated budget document was
published on the government legal database. The document said the extra money
would largely go to construction or refits of World Cup-related facilities,
without specifying which particular projects.
For better or worse, 2016 was a big year for women on the world stage.
Whether they were taking high political office, winning Olympic gold
medals, tackling the pay gap or encouraging young girls to follow their
dreams - there was no shortage of inspiration.
I first noticed it on the school run. Every day, a teacher would be
stationed outside the classroom door to shepherd the children into the
arms of their waiting parents. But one day, as I was about to exchange
our usual greeting, my face reddened. I couldn’t remember the teacher’s
name. So it came as no surprise to read
the results of a new study, last month, that said women’s brains start
going downhill in their 50s - a decade earlier than previously thought.
The academics from the University of California found that, on average,
the female mind loses up to five per cent of its sharpness between 50
and 60.
Their study, published in
journal Plos One, followed more than 2,000 healthy women, aged in their
40s, for 10 years. It found that verbal memory declined by, on average,
one per cent every five years, and cognitive processing - including
speed of perception and reaction - declined by one per cent every two
years.

In 1948, a black law student named Seretse Khama, who was also heir to the throne in Botswana,
married a white English clerk named Ruth Williams. Their courtship sparked an international scandal
right as apartheid was taking hold of neighboring South Africa.
This month, Khama and Williams’ story
is the subject of “A United Kingdom,” which premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival.
David Oyelowo plays Khama, and a charming Rosamund Pike plays Williams, a woman who had
to adjust to life at the center of a fraught spotlight.
Below, The Huffington Post has a gallery of exclusive photos showcasing the handsomely shot movie directed by Amma Asante (”Belle”).
“A United Kingdom” opens Feb. 10.

everyone can afford to go big on Valentine's Day. And even if they
could, not everyone would

the
smallest gifts are the ones that have the biggest impact. With that in
